I'm excited to announce that this diptych marks the beginning of my new collection entitled, "Suck It In." This is a gender inclusive series that explores negative body image both through humor and color. 

Whether you're fighting to fit into an old, favorite pair of jeans or sucking in your belly when someone attractive walks by, we've all encountered some form of the "suck it in" phenomena. On the eve of my 33rd birthday, I'm finally realizing that body acceptance is a spectrum. On one end, there's hatred and on the other, love. When I struggle with accepting my weight or body for what it is at the current moment, I also have to accept the fact that I can be emotionally broken. My body wouldn't be the way it is without my emotions factoring in. Humor allows me to view the spectrum from different perspectives, temporarily putting aside everyday concerns to explore the amusing and comical rather than serious or sad.
